As Senior Director, Security Risk Management, Kirk Jennings is a senior security expert and specialist supporting Jensen Hughes’ rapidly growing Security Risk Management practice and serving as a trusted security advisor to major corporations and high net worth individuals.
Before joining the Jensen Hughes team, Kirk completed a highly successful 27-year career with the United States Secret Service. As the Branch Chief for the Field Office Security and Infrastructure Assurance Branch of the Secret Service, Kirk coordinated, approved and implemented physical security, access control and video requirements for permanent Secret Service facilities. He was responsible for developing and maintaining special alteration and installation policies and ensured that the installation standards were consistent across the full range of Secret Service facilities. Kirk also traveled as the Technical Security Division protective security representative on foreign protective pre-advance trips with White House staff and military to establish preliminary security requirements with the host country security, which required coordination with the U.S. State Department, U.S. Embassies, Consulates and foreign governments.
Kirk also served as the Branch Chief for the Chemical-Biological Countermeasures Branch of the Secret Service where he advised senior leadership on the formulation of short- and long-range Branch and Division plans, goals and objectives. He prepared and reviewed recommendations regarding the development of Branch policies and procedures and directed teams on how to accomplish tasks based on priorities, specialized capabilities and the consideration of the requirements of various assignments.
Kirk has technical expertise in a wide range of areas including chemical and biological threats, nuclear and radiological threats, fire and life safety, incident command assistance and general hazardous material concerns. Additionally, he designed and installed security projects in the Vice President’s residence, Camp David, all former living Presidents’ residences and throughout the White House.
