Barry Kent is a Senior Forensic Investigator specialising in fire and explosions, personal injury, electrical failures and fire related crime and fraud investigations.
Before joining Jensen Hughes, Barry worked as a Senior Forensic Investigator with EFI Global.
Prior to that he spent 35 years as a Fire Fighter/Officer. He spent over 12 years as a forensic Fire and Explosion Investigator in the London Fire Brigade (LFB) Fire Investigation Team (FIT). Barry was also a fire behavior instructor, he has an extensive understanding of fire, how it behaves and the effects of fire-fighting techniques in relation to fire scenes.
Barry has carried out in excess of 1700 fire investigations covering a vast range of incidents, including fires involving aviation industry. He was part of the initial Fire Investigation Team on the morning of the Grenfell Tower fire. He has investigated over 100 fatal fires, including 11 multiple fatalities. including murder scenes. He has worked alongside many different agencies and forensic specialists, such as the AAIB and HSE. He has given expert witness testimony in Coroners and Crown Court on numerous occasions.
